This is a peanut and milk free Vegetarian Chickpea burger that could convert even the most dedicated meatatarian!
My sister pointed me in the direction of this meat-free burger and I am so glad that she did! The combination of hearty chickpeas, carrot and egg create a pattie that you will for sure add to your repertoire. The unique blend of spices and the healthy veggies create a meal that is light yet satisfying. We have been incorporating more vegan and vegetarian meals and snacks into our weekly rotation. These chickpea patties are awesome for lunch the next day as they double as delicious crumbly toppings for your salad.
Toddler Friendly Chickpea Burger
I am always trying to interest my toddler with different flavours and food combinations. It seems that lately the more “deconstructed” a meal, the more that seems to disappear from the plate (definite mom-win)! When I make these patties I form them into “nuggets” and my little ones prefer this over the sandwich presentation. The following pictures are one way we “deconstruct” the chickpea burger in order to entice our little eaters. Yup, you will notice there is ketchup with these vegetarian nuggets. Every now and again a little ketchup sneaks into our meals, nobody is perfect right?
I prefer them drizzled with dairy free Tzatziki sauce.
